Product Description
Manufacturer's Description
DC26 Multi Floor is Dyson's smallest, lightest, cylinder with the performance of a full-size machine (previously known as DC26 Wood + Wool)
DC26 Multi Floor is so small that it fits onto an A4 sheet of paper. It is light and compact, without compromising power. Like all Dyson machines, DC26 Multi Floor has patented Root Cyclone technology for no loss of suction. But instead of making a smaller version of existing technology, Dyson engineers recalculated every dimension and angle to make the small cyclones in DC26 Multi Floor as efficient as the larger cyclones in full-size Dyson machines. And because there are no bags or filters to replace, there are no extra costs.
DC26 Multi Floor has a full-size, lightweight wand with eight adjustable length settings, so it easily reaches the floor from standing height no bending over to clean. The wand can be disconnected in three places - so tools can be attached at different levels to clean in high spaces and tight gaps. It's made from tough ABS plastic to withstand bumps and bashes.
The dual channel floor tool separates carpet fibres at the front and back of the tool, so it captures more dirt and dust, cleaning with fewer strokes.Patented Dyson technology
Root Cyclone technology for no loss of suction.
Dyson engineers are constantly testing and inventing new technology. As they work they file patent applications to protect their inventions. They have been granted 564 patents to date. That's why the only place you'll find Dyson technology is inside a Dyson machine.
Root Cyclone technology for no loss of suction Other vacuum cleaners rely on bags and filters to trap dust and dirt. Air is meant to flow through tiny pores, leaving dust and dirt in the bag. The problem is that these pores clog with particles of dust - choking the flow of air, so the vacuum cleaner loses suction.
DC26 Multi Floor doesn't rely on bags or filters to trap dust and dirt. It has patented Root Cyclone technology, which spins the air at up to 178 mph. The cyclones inside this cleaner generate centrifugal forces many thousands of times the force of gravity. Dust, dirt and pet hair are flung out of the airflow and straight into the clear bin. No bags, no loss of suction.
Dual channel floor tool for dirt removal on every floor type.
Ultra-lightweight and compactDC26 Multi Floor features
Dual channel floor tool The dual channel floor tool agitates carpet fibres in two places as you clean. This means that dirt and dust is removed with fewer strokes. This tool is small enough to clean in tight gaps. And because it's flat it reaches underneath sofas and sideboards. It can also be used on harder surfaces, and it won't stick to floors like lino. DC26 Multi Floor also comes with a combination crevice tool for cleaning skirting boards and other awkward areas, and a stair tool.
HEPA filter traps microscopic particles.
Hygienic bin emptying - one-touch trigger release.
No extra costs Other vacuum cleaners are still designed to need replacement bags and filters and the cost soon adds up. Over 5 years, you could spend up to £175. Dyson vacuum cleaners don't need bags and have lifetime washable filters, so there are no extra costs to worry about.
Clear bin lets you see when it needs emptying The bin on a Dyson vacuum cleaner is transparent, so you can see when it needs emptying - and how much dust, dirt and pet hair has been removed. Emptying is quick and hygienic - just press the button to release the dirt.
Approved for allergy sufferers One in three people in the UK suffers from allergies. Most reactions are triggered by dust mites and their faeces, pollen, fungus, fibres, food particles. These are all things that make up household dust. Also, animals deposit allergen-rich saliva on their fur when they clean themselves. This ends up on upholstery and carpets, where it can trigger allergies. Dyson machines are so efficient at removing allergens that they have been approved by 12 allergy associations worldwide. These include the British Allergy Foundation (BAF) and Allergie Suisse - one of the most stringent in the world. To secure it, vacuums have to provide constant suction and separation performance so that they don't lose suction power while you clean.
Washable HEPA filter for cleaner expelled air DC26 Multi Floor has a lifetime washable HEPA (High-Efficiency Particle Air) filter to trap tiny particles as small as 0.1 microns. That's about the size of a single particle of cigarette smoke. Particles this small include common household allergens such as pollen, mould spores and dust mite faeces.
The air expelled by DC26 Multi Floor contains up to 150 times less mould spores and bacteria than the air you breathe. And because the filter is washable you won't need to replace it. Just give it a rinse once a month with cold water.
5 year parts and labour guarantee Dyson engineers continually seek improvement: in performance, durability and ergonomics. That's why they carry out extensive tests on their machines to make sure they're as durable as possible. Floor tools are knocked sideways into a metal bar 200 times. A push/pull rig shoves cleaners a minimum of 4,452,651 feet. The hose is kinked 7,280 times. The bin is flung open and slammed shut 1,560 times. Upright vacuum cleaners undergo 207 different validation tests, cylinders 235.
That's why Dyson guarantee all their uprights and cylinders for 5 years parts and labour. But if there is a problem you can call Dyson's award-winning UK-based call centre for free. And if something can't be solved over the phone, a Dyson engineer will come to you.

Customer Reviews
I purchased the DC26 after much research and thinking. Ive had a Dyson before no problems but too heavy, dont wont this again. I bought the dc just before Easter wish I had bought one earlier. It is fantastic, light enough to hold in one hand and vacuum with the other. The suction is great and found it can hold alot before emptying is needed. Of course you can get to wash alot of the parts so it isnt smelling of dust. We live in a two bedroom bungalow so it is plug in and go. Only one slight drawback the long flexi plastic tube attached to the cleaner does make storage a slight problem buy it has not put me off and I am still more than delighted with this product.
Although I've only had my Dyson DC26 a few weeks, I hope my comments might be useful to anyone wondering if it's worth the price. I live in a old terrace house with small rooms, and a couple of rooms have narrow spaces between the pieces of furniture. Also, I'm not as strong as I used to be. For these reasons, and because I've used Dyson vacuums for many years, I was attracted to the DC26. I've been pleased with it so far. The suction does seem very good for such a small machine - and its diminutive size allows it to be wheeled easily through narrow gaps. Although the bin is small, I didn't find it seemed to need emptying annoyingly often - and it conveniently flips open from the bottom so you avoid getting your hands dirty. The different tools and parts, such as the hose, clip together and disconnect smoothly and easily - unlike some earlier Dyson designs I've used. The wand has a good grip and useful adjustment options. I found the dual channel floor tool worked well on my quarry tiles, wooden floors and short pile rugs. The floor tool articulates very flexibly on the end of the wand and its thin profile makes it easy to navigate round tight corners. The two other tools supplied have been useful and, although they're stored on the wand, they don't seem to get in the way when not in use (unlike some previous Dyson designs). This machine really is light and, if you live in a house on four levels, you really appreciate the ease of carrying it up and down stairs. It's also the only mains connected vacuum I can easily hold up off the ground to vacuum book shelves, etc. Yes it is pricey, but if small and light are priorities for you I can recommend this little Dyson.
